Montana head coach Bobby Hauck has reconnected with Jimmy Morimoto of the University of Hawaii, hiring him to be the Grizzlies' next director of football operations.

A Maui native, Morimoto comes to Missoula after one season as the Rainbow Warriors' director of operations. Prior to that, he spent two years at Fresno State and eight years at UNLV, where he served under Hauck as the director of player personnel.

"We worked together for five years at UNLV, and I have tremendous regard for his abilities. We can't wait for him to arrive."

Before returning to his home state, Morimoto was the director of player personnel at Fresno State and monitored the program's recruiting operations from 2015-16.

He spent eight years in Las Vegas before his time in Fresno (2007-14). There he served as the Rebels' assistant video coordinator and assistant recruiting coordinator for two years before spending six seasons as the director of player personnel.

"I'm excited about the opportunity," said Morimoto. "I look forward to getting back with Coach Hauck and taking the right steps to get the Grizzlies back on top."

A former head coach at Baldwin High School in Maui, Morimoto led the Bears to a 21-2-1 record and a pair of league titles in two seasons. He served on the Baldwin staff for a total of 15 years.

Morimoto earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix in 2002, and a teaching certificate from Chaminade in 2004. He also received a master's degree from Walden University in 2007.

He and his wife Tammie have four children, Alyssa, Jimmy Jr., Karissa, and Jaden.
