Griz football to feature expanded radio team for 2015
8/6/2015 8:44:00 PM | Football
The 2015 edition of Griz football will once again feature the dulcet tones of Mick Holien, the "Voice of the Grizzlies" for 22 years, who will bring the action to Griz Nation with a shuffled deck of supporters this season.
Â
Joining Holien in the play-by-play booth for the first time is Greg Sundberg, who moves upstairs to take over color commentary duties after serving years as sideline reporter, reuniting the Grizzly basketball commentary duo.
Â
Sundberg replaces former Griz football All-Big Sky Conference wide receiver Scott Gurnsey who moves into a new, fan-facing role as Griz Tailgate Show co-host after 17 years in the booth.
Â
"Gurns" will be on display for fans to interact with during Montana's famed pregame tailgates, co-hosing the lead up show with veteran Griz hoops and Lady Griz PA man Denny Bedard.
Â
Replacing Sundberg as the Griz football sideline reporter is longtime NBC Montana news personality Adam Painter. Completing the team, and keeping them on the air is Broadcast Engineer Don Perkins.
Â
"I'm very excited about our new commentary team and the new feel it will provide our listeners," said Nick Garner, General Manager of Montana media rights holders, Grizzly Sports Properties.
Â
"They are all talented broadcasters that I know will provide a first class broadcast to fans around the state, region, and world."
