Griz soccer adds seven to program

MISSOULA, Mont. – The Montana women's soccer team added seven new members to the program this week. Alexa Bentley, Kendall Furrow, Kylie Hanson, Brooke Johnston, McKenzie Kilpatrick and Zoe Transtrum signed National Letters of Intent, while Ali Monroe, who is already enrolled in classes and participating in team activities on campus, had her own signing day ceremony with her new teammates.
"I am honored to welcome this class into the Griz soccer family," Montana coach Katie Benz said. "Together, they are a group that brings a great deal of competitive energy and talent to our team. Each of these players is hungry to make their impact on our program, and I'm excited to see where they take us."

Will be a 2018 graduate of Westmont High School in Campbell, Calif. ... Named second-team all-league... Earned two varsity letters in soccer... Played club soccer for Pleasanton Rage.

Will be a 2018 graduate of Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colo. ... Was a four-year letterwinner and senior captain... Helped the Lobos win city championships in 2015 and 2016 and a conference title in 2016... Academic all-state in 2016 and 2017... Played club soccer for Real Colorado... Qualified for ECNL regionals in 2015 and 2016... 2015 Surf Cup finalist.

Will be a 2018 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School... Finished her career ranked No. 5 in school history for scoring... Lettered all four years, and in 2014 was the only freshman to make varsity... Was named her team's top attacker as a sophomore in 2015... Missed her junior season (2016) due to injury... Returned as a senior (2017) to earn team MVP honors... Attended the Washington Region IV ODP Championship tournament twice and the Idaho State ODP once... Played ECNL for Washington Premier in Seattle for three years, participating in several showcases... Was named Top Draw Soccer's Best XI in 2015... Ranked among the top-10 players by Top Drawer Soccer in the 2016 ECNL Texas Showcase... Won the 2017 Crossfire and Nomad tournaments while playing for the Spokane Sounders FC.

Played club soccer for ISC Gunners G99... Earned three Washington State Cup titles (2015-17)... Won the 2017 San Diego Surf Cup Black Division.

Is a graduate of Edmonds-Woodway High School in Edmonds, Wash. … Was a two-time letterwinner in soccer, playing as both a freshman and sophomore… Voted her team's most valuable player as a sophomore in 2015, in addition to being a two-time captain… Helped her team to a state title as a freshman in 2014, and a third-place finish as a sophomore in 2015… Was named her team's most inspirational player in 2016, a year in which she missed due to a torn ACL… Did not play as a senior in order to prepare for college… Graduated early and enrolled at Montana in January 2018… Played for Crossfire Premier, earning three top-six ECNL national finishes.
