- head coach Portland State 1968-1971 and 1981-1985, head coach University of Oregon 1974-1976, head coach Oregon Tech 1977-1980
- Division II Coach of the Year after leading Portland State to league championship in 1984
- Overall coaching record 154-127-1
- Well known for his book “The Complete Passing Game”
