- In baseball he was first team all-league and the Skyline Conference Player of the Year as a senior in 1954
- Skyline Player of the Year in basketball, 1953-1954
- One of the basketball team’s top two scorers in 1952, 1953 and 1954, and team MVP in 1954
- Baseball and Basketball team co-captain in 1953-1954
- Had a combined batting average of .404 over his junior and senior seasons
- First Grizzly athlete named first team All-Skyline in football, basketball and baseball
- Second team NCAA All-American in baseball as a senior (1954)
- Signed a pro contract and played with the New York Yankees
