- Intercepted a pass and threw winning touchdown pass in the West’s 7-3 victory in the 1927 East-West Shrine Game
- Named All-Time quarterback in Shrine Game history in 1971
- Still hold UM’s longest run from scrimmage 88 yards in 1924
- Played two years of baseball professionally with the old New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers
- Lettered in football, baseball and basketball during four years at UM
- Fought four exhibition boxing rounds with heavyweight contender Tommy Gibbons
