... To check out the latest progress of the Grizzly Sports Hall of Champions, please visit the following web site:. Contributions are still being sought to finish the Hall of Champions project, which includes the Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame, as well as championship trophies, retired jerseys and other related materials to help preserve the history and promote the successes of UM Athletics. The hall is located in the south concourse of the Adams Center on the UM campus. The project is being completed through the efforts of the National Advisory Board for Grizzly Athletics. ... The State Board of Directors for the Grizzly Athletic Association will hold its winter meeting on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at the Holiday Inn-Parkside in Missoula. Representatives from all Montana chapters, as well as Spokane, are expected to attend.
... Good seats still remain for both Montana-Montana State basketball games in Missoula this weekend. To order tickets, contact the Adams Center Ticket Office at 1-888-MONTANA or 243-4051.
... The University of Montana Lady Griz basketball team (15-7 overall, 6-3 Big Sky) returns home this week and will entertain Montana State University (17-5, 8-1) on Friday, Feb. 21. Tip off is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. in Dahlberg Arena. The game will be televised in Missoula on KPAX, Ch.8 and statewide on its MTN affiliates. Radio coverage will be provided by the Lady Griz flagship station, KLCY Radio in Missoula (930 AM), with Tom Stage providing play-by-play.

... The majority of The University of Montana indoor track and field athletes will take a week off to prepare for the Big Sky Conference Championships, which will be held on February 28-29. The championships are hosted by the University of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz. The Grizzlies will send a handful of athletes to the Power Play Dual in Pocatello, Idaho, on Friday in an attempt to qualify for next week's conference championship. ... The Sacramento State men's and women's tennis teams are favored to win the 2003 Big Sky Conference tennis titles in the league's preseason polls. The polls were voted on by the league's head coaches. Northern Arizona was second in the poll with 41 points and one first-place vote. Last year's runner-up Montana State finished third with 37 points. The poll was rounded out by Idaho State (31), Weber State (26), Montana (23), Eastern Washington (11) and Portland State (10). ... ATTENTION PHOENIX AREA GRIZ FANS OR THOSE HEADED TO PHOENIX FOR VACATION AND/OR SPRING BREAK 2003. Two golfing fund-raisers for UM Athletics are currently scheduled in the Phoenix (Arizona) area in March.
The first will take place on Sunday, March 23rd, sponsored by Al McCarthy and Duke's Sports and Grill. The two-person scramble will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Silverado Golf Course in Scottsdale. Cost is $100 per person. Following the golf outing at 6 p.m., there will be a social function at Duke's Sports and Grill in Scottsdale. For more information, or to register for the golf scramble, contact Al McCarthy at (480) 675-9724. Non-golfers are invited to attend the social. For those wearing Griz logo wear, the first beverage is free.
The next day, Monday, March 24th, the 2nd annual Griz 4-Person Scramble will take place at the Tatum Creek Ranch at Cave Creek, north of Scottsdale. The scramble will start at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $110 per person, with proceeds going to UM Athletics. Following the golf, there will be hors d'oeurves, as well as a program featuring UM Athletic Director Wayne Hogan and new Griz football coach Bobby Hauck. ... The University of Montana is planning an expansion of Washington Grizzly Stadium for the 2003 season. You can reserve the right to purchase $148 North End Zone season tickets today! All you need is a fully refundable $75* per seat deposit to reserve your seat.
Earlier this month, the state Board of Regents unanimously approved a proposal to add 4,004 seats to the north end zone of the University of Montana's football stadium, bringing capacity to 23,009. The cost is expected to run between $2 million and $2.5 million. The proposal also calls for additional restrooms and concession stands. Construction is expected to begin in April.

Also, it has been decided that a new stadium suites expansion project will be delayed until next year - and will not be a part of the seating project taking place this spring.
