Griz rally to beat Zags, end season on high note

The University of Montana volleyball team won for the fifth time in its last eight matches when the Grizzlies ended their season with a come-from-behind victory at Gonzaga Monday night, 24-30, 30-26, 34-32, 31-29. Montana ends the season with a record of 8-17.
Sophomore Claudia Houle ended a superb first year with the Griz with her most sensational match of the season. The 5-10 outside hitter recorded a season-high 32 kills and a season-high 27 digs. The 32 kills were the third-most ever in a single match for a Montana player.
The double-double gave Houle 15 for the season, a team high. She also finished the season with 417 kills, just the 11th time in Montana volleyball history a player has exceeded 400 season kills.
But Houle wasn't the only one putting up career numbers.
In her final match in a Grizzly uniform, senior Alice Myers finished with a career-high 15 kills while hitting .407.
Junior setter Diana Thompson had a career-high 68 assists in the match, 11 digs and three blocks. Thompson finished the season with 13 double-doubles.
Junior Audrey Jensen had 16 kills and hit .452 while adding five blocks. Freshman Micaela Parker had a season-high 20 digs and seven kills. Freshman Jackie White had 16 digs and sophomore EvaLyn Whitehead had five blocks.
