Following is the schedule of UM sporting events for this weekend:
... Thursday, Feb. 12 - Weber State women's basketball at UM Lady Griz, 7:35 p.m.; UM Griz men's basketball at Weber State, 7:05 p.m.

The Road to the 2004 Women's Final Four Begins in Missoula, Montana. The NCAA has selected the Adams Center in Missoula as one of 16 sites to host the 2004 NCAA women's basketball tournament. First and second round games will be played March 20 & 22 at the 7,321-seat Adams Center. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Adams Center Box Office. See more details at .
Football Banquet Is Saturday, Feb. 21. The annual University of Montana Grizzly football banquet to honor the 2003 team will be held on Saturday, February 21, at the DoubleTree Hotel. The 2003 Griz football highlight video will debut at the function, Head Coach Bobby Hauck will talk about the season, and UM team and individual awards will be presented. The Grizzlies finished 9-4 last season, losing four games by a total of 16 points. Montana was 5-2 in the Big Sky Conference, tying Montana State and Northern Arizona for first place. A social hour will run from noon to 1:00 p.m. and lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and will not be sold at the door. Tickets are available at the UM Box Office and any Griz Tix outlet, or by calling 243-4051 or 1-888-MONTANA. The final day to order tickets will be Wednesday, Feb. 18 at noon.
Griz Add 7th Home Game to Football Schedule, Cancel Cal Poly Trip. The University of Montana will add a seventh home football game in 2004, and therefore, will not play the Cal-Poly Mustangs in San Luis Obispo, Calif., next season, UM Athletic Director Wayne Hogan announced. The Cal Poly game had been scheduled for Oct. 23, 2004.

Grizzly Scholarship Association Updates:
... The Montana GSA would like to announce the "Driving The Griz" truck raffle, with all proceeds going toward scholarships for student athletes at The University of Montana. The truck is a new 2003 Chevy Silverado fully loaded with custom Griz pin striping. The cost is $50 per raffle ticket or 3 for $125. The drawing will take place at the Griz/Cat men's basketball game in Missoula on February 21. Contact the GSA offices at 243-6481 to purchase tickets. A limited number of tickets will be sold, so don't miss out. The truck can also be seen at home Grizzly football games.

The University of Montana women's basketball team (18-4, 7-0 Big Sky), atop the Big Sky Conference standings and on its longest win streak in four years, will host Weber State (11-9, 5-2 Big Sky) and Idaho State (14- 5, 6-1 BSC) this week in a key set of games at Dahlberg Arena.
... Griz on the road for two. The University of Montana Grizzlies (5-16, 2-7 Big Sky) continue their Big Sky Conference season on the road, playing the Weber State Wildcats (10-11, 3-5 Big Sky) on Thursday, Feb. 12, and the Idaho State Bengals (10-13, 5-3 Big Sky) on Saturday, Feb. 14.
... UM soccer signs two student-athletes. The University of Montana announced that two high school athletes, Tatiana Kaiser of Elk Grove, Calif., and Meghan Chambers of Lake Oswego, Ore., have signed National Letters of Intent to compete next season on the Grizzly soccer team.
... Montana indoor track & field at Bozeman. The Montana Grizzly track and field team travels to Bozeman this weekend for the Montana State Dual on February 13. This will be the second-to-last regular season indoor meet for the Grizzlies before the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships. The conference championships will be held on February 28 and they will be in Bozeman.
... Holien wins broadcasting award. Mick Holien, the "Voice" of The University of Montana's football and men's basketball programs, was recently selected Montana "Sports Broadcaster of the Year." Holien has been the radio voice of Griz football and men's basketball since 1993, and prior to that he called the play-by-play for UM's women's basketball for eight seasons.

Nominees should be sent to: Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame Committee, c/o Don Nicholson at the John Hoyt Athletic Complex, The University of Montana, Missoula, MT., 59812. To be eligible, visit www.montanagrizzlies.com and go to the section involving "Boosters and Clubs." Eligibility rules can be found in the Hall of Fame section. Members of the Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame Committee are: Don Nicholson (chairman), Brad Dantic, Colleen Frolich, Cheri Bratt-Roberts, Pat Dodson, Robin Peters, Eric Hays, Gary Hughes, Dave Guffey and UM Athletic Director Wayne Hogan (Ad Hoc).
UM athletic teams wouldn't be as successful without the private financial support they receive from Griz fans across the country. One avenue of this private support is the specialty clubs that provide additional funding for such things as recruiting, etc. In addition to making a huge difference in each of these programs, members of these specialty clubs are "more in the know" about what's happening in the respective sports offered at UM Athletics.
