Grizzly track and field signs three more

University of Montana track and field coach Tom Raunig announced on Wednesday that Amber Aikins, Jessica Seydel and Brittany Williams have all signed National Letters of Intent and will begin competing for the Grizzlies in 2006. Raunig has now signed nine high school seniors during the current signing period.
Aikins is currently a senior at Cut Bank (Mont.) High School. Entering her final Class B state meet in 2005, Aikins has amassed seven first- or second-place state finishes in the hurdles and jumps. She earned her first state title in the 300-meter hurdles as a freshman at CBHS, added a triple jump title as a sophomore and won triple jump and long jump titles as a junior in 2004.
Aikins has personal bests of 15.80 in the 100-meter hurdles, 45.91 in the 300-meter hurdles, 17-5.5 in the long jump and 37-7.5 in the triple jump.
Seydel is currently a senior at Billings (Mont.) Senior High School. She finished third in the javelin at the 2004 Class AA state meet with a throw of 126-8 and has a personal best of 137-7.
Williams is currently a senior at Chinook (Mont.) High School. She finished second in the discus at the 2004 Class B state meet with a throw of 117-4 and has personal bests of 118-7 in the discus and 38-1.5 in the shot.
