Perkins-Judisch earns fifth career Big Sky honor

University of Montana senior Loni Perkins-Judisch was named the Big Sky Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week the league office announced this week. It was the fifth career Big Sky athlete of the week honor for the Conrad, Mont., native.
Perkins-Judisch was recognized for her performance last Friday at the Montana Last Chance Meet at Dornblaser Field in Missoula where she won the 400 meters in a time of 54.31. The time met the NCAA regional qualifying standard of 54.61 and was the fastest 400-meter time in the Big Sky this outdoor season.
The 2008 NCAA Midwest Region Championships, which will be held May 30-31 at Lincoln, Neb., will be Perkins-Judisch's fourth straight regional appearance in the 400 meters.
Perkins-Judisch, who has the best 400-meter time in the Big Sky Conference this spring by more than one second, will be trying to win her fourth outdoor 400-meter title this weekend at the 2008 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif. She would become just the fifth female athlete to be a four-time Big Sky outdoor champion, the first from Montana.
Including both indoor and outdoor league championships, Perkins-Judisch has won the last six 400-meter titles. She is also the reigning 200-meter indoor champion, giving her seven career individual Big Sky sprint titles.
