The University of Montana women???s track and field team was named one of 130 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I All-Academic teams the organization announced this week. The Grizzlies had a 2008-09 team grade point average of 3.30, which ranked 48th nationally.
Tennessee was named the USTFCCCA???s Indoor Track and Field Scholar Team of the Year. The Volunteers, who had a 3.23 GPA, won the NCAA indoor title in March. Thirteen of the top 25 teams at the NCAA indoor championships were named All-Academic.
Arizona State was named the USTFCCCA???s Outdoor Track and Field Scholar Team of the Year. The Sun Devils, who had a 3.287 GPA, finished third at the NCAA outdoor championships in June. Thirteen of the top 25 teams at the outdoor championships were named All-Academic.
Tennessee-Chattanooga led all institutions with a 3.55 team GPA, followed by Butler???s 3.547.
