Ryan Martin, a business manager within the University of Montana Department of Athletics' business office, has received a scholarship to attend the 2011 College Athletic Business Management Association national convention.
The scholarship is sponsored by the Borden Perlman Insurance Agency and covers registration fees and travel expenses to the convention, which is being held June 13-16 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla.
Martin has been working for Grizzly Athletics since October 2009.
"Ryan is going to make an excellent athletic department CFO one day," James Gibson, UM's Assistant AD for Business and Finance, said.
"The opportunity for him to go to this conference is the first step in meeting people, learning what others are doing and interacting with other intercollegiate athletics business managers.
"What stands out about Ryan is that he is all about doing right by our student-athletes. He makes sure that they are taken care of, and that's something we should all be about."
Other scholarship recipients are Elizabeth Knips of Brown University, Erin McGovern of DePaul University, Megan Sanders of the University of Tennessee Chattanooga and Mike Sanders of La Salle University.
