Griz well represented at Outstanding Senior Recognition Awards

The 27th annual President's Outstanding Senior Recognition Awards were held Friday afternoon at the George and Jane Dennison Theatre as a lead-up to last Saturday's graduation ceremonies, and the Montana Department of Athletics was well represented.
Five student-athletes were honored, as were two former Griz and one department staff member.
Kayla Reno (volleyball), Jordan Sullivan (women's basketball), Tysen Timmer (football), Ashley Tombelaine (soccer) and Alex White (track and field) were all recognized.
Sullivan was honored as the outstanding senior in the marketing branch of the School of Business Administration, Timmer in the cellular and molecular biology program of the Division of Biological Sciences and Tombelaine in Economics.
Reno and White were the honorees of Intercollegiate Athletics within the Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM). White doubled up on his ASUM awards when he was highlighted by the Office for Student Success.
Former Griz distance runners Cara Saxon and Ani Haas were also recognized. Saxon within the exercise science program in Health and Human Performance, Haas by ASUM's Operation Smile UM.
Doug Sirois, assistant director of the Hackney Athletic Equipment Center, was the honored senior within the general branch of Anthropology.
