Montana senior Kellee Glaus was voted to CoSIDA's Capital One Academic All-District 7 women's cross country and track and field team Thursday. Glaus now advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
Glaus makes it five Griz athletes to earn Academic All-District 7 honors in 2013-14. Other winners were Maddey Frey (soccer), Brooke Bray (volleyball), Derek Crittenden (football) and Jordan Gregory (men's basketball).
Glaus, who graduated earlier this month with a 3.93 GPA as a biology major, was one of 11 athletes from a stacked District 7 to be honored. The winners were all upperclassmen with GPAs of 3.9 or better, with athletic bona fides to match.
The Whitehall, Mont., native will become an eight-time indoor and outdoor Academic All-Big Sky Conference selection this summer and last year was named All-Academic by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches of America.
Glaus had her best season in 2013. She won the Big Sky indoor triple jump title and finished runner-up at the outdoor championships. She was hindered by injuries in 2014 and finished 10th at the indoor championships, seventh at the outdoor meet.
Glaus scored points for Montana at four Big Sky championships during her career and holds the UM indoor triple jump record of 40-2.75.
