More than 600 of the region's top track & field athletes will converge in Missoula next week for the 2019 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The event will mark the first time in more than a decade that the University of Montana will host the sport's premier event.
Â
Action begins May 8-9 with the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon. The 10- and seven-event competitions, respectively, will showcase some of the Big Sky's most versatile and skilled athletes, going through an assortment of running, jumping and throwing events across two days.
Â
Full action begins Friday, May 10, with 14 preliminary running events and 12 events that will culminate with an awards presentation. Twenty-eight additional individual champions will be crowned on Saturday, May 11, as well as the men's and women's team champions.
Â
Admission is free for Wednesday and Thursday's multi-events. Entry is $5, at the gate, on Friday and Saturday. Those outside of Missoula can follow all of the action online (www.WatchBigSky.com) or on their phone, tablet, or OTT device (Pluto TV channel 230/231). Live results are available on FinishedResults.com or by downloading the Finished Results app.
A schedule of events for the week can be found online. A complete list of athletes competing, as well as heat sheets, will be available next week.
