
Montana volleyball camps offering $0 down

With everything going on involving the COVID-19 outbreak, Montana is continuing to monitor best practices for its 2020 volleyball camps. With uncertainty and financial hardship facing many across the country, the Grizzlies are offering registration with $0 down and a full refund should camps be changed or canceled.
Below is a breakdown of each camp being offered this summer. More detailed information, including itinerary and registration, can be found online.
Basic Serving Camp – Thursday, June 11
Grades: Kindergarten-12th
Serving camp is a unique opportunity to work on this one specific, crucial volleyball skill. This camp is geared toward athletes who are looking to learn the technique of serving. This camp will focus on breaking down serving technique and figuring out how to create power while still maintaining ball control. Come join us for a short and intense night of fun!

Youth Skills Camp – Wednesday, June 17
Grades: Kindergarten-8th
Would you like to learn more about the game of volleyball and develop your skills as a player? Then join us at our one-day Youth Skills Camp! Whether you are brand new to the game or have been playing for a few years, you will develop better skills as an overall volleyball player and take your game to the next level. The will help you improve on each individual skill and progress into six-on-six play.

Advanced Skills Camp – Wednesday, June 17-Friday, June 19
Grades: Entering 9th-12th
Are you ready to improve your overall volleyball skills and prepare for high school play? Then our Advanced Skills Camp is for you! We will train all aspects of the game and build on the knowledge that you already have. The Griz Volleyball coaches will help you refine your skills individually and in specialized position training. We will progress into six-on-six play and finish the camp with tournament play. We are offering overnight stay for resident campers and a commuter option for those who would like to attend the camp without staying the night.

Elite Skills Camp – Sunday, June 21
Grades: Entering 9th-12th
This camp is best suited for high-level athletes who would like to experience a collegiate-level training environment. We will emphasize position-specific skills training and strategy, and high-level six-on-six play. Athletes should have an extensive understanding of rotations, front court and back court positioning, and have played in very competitive situations.

Advanced Serving Camp – Saturday, June 27
Grades: Entering 4th-12th
Serving camp is a unique opportunity to work on this one specific, crucial volleyball skill. This camp is geared toward athletes wanting to work on serving strategy, serving speed and precision. We will work on serving zones, serving under pressure and serving drills Griz players do in practice. We will also introduce both jump float and jump spin serves. Come join us for a short and intense night of fun!

Defense and Serve-Receive Camp – Sunday, June 27
Grades: Entering 9th-12th
Do you have what it takes? This specialty camp will focus on the grit and hustle a defensive player needs in the college game. Join us for two hours of specific skills training on passing, defending and running the court from the back row. Fine tune your skills before high school season starts.

Setters Camp – Saturday, June 27
Grades: Entering 9th-12th
Join us for an evening of precision and agility. The setter is one of the most important people on the court, and we want to help you to be that both mentally and physically. Join us for a high-paced camp that will focus on footwork, contact point, decision making and court presence.

Basic Attacking Camp – Monday, July 6
Grades: Entering kindergarten-12th
Join us for an evening of attacking. This camp is focused on learning the mechanics of the attack. We will focus on footwork, creating rhythm with your approach, maximizing your jump, arm swing, and how to make good hand contact. This camp will be station-based.

Advanced Attacking Camp – Monday, July 6
Grades: Entering 9th-12th
Join us for a night of attacking. Learn how to maximize your jump, create the most power and use your arm in the most effective way. This camp will be partly station based to break down certain aspects of your attack, and will then move to competitive live situations.

Team Camp – Tuesday, July 7-Friday, July 10
Grades: Entering 9th-12th (varsity and junior varsity)
Get your high school team together and come join Montana Volleyball at our annual Team Camp! We are excited to offer your team positional training, structured group training on and off the court, and game-like competition against other high school teams. You will get the chance to work with many different coaches and players during your time at camp. We will end the camp with tournament-style bracket play. Come enjoy beautiful Missoula, Montana, experience our gorgeous campus and get your team prepared for the fall season.
