On a wall inside the new Grizzly Athletics Coyle Recovery Room is a simple message to thousands of current and future Montana student-athletes that will inhabit the space for decades to come.
"This room is dedicated to the Griz athlete who gives their all for the team, who takes great pride in the name on the front of their jersey and who fully embraces the culture of being a Montana Grizzly.
The best ability is availability, and the strongest teams are the ones who have all members ready to compete and win, together.
Compete, win, recover, repeat.
Go Griz!"
Montana student-athletes laid eyes on that message for the first time Thursday when its author, former Grizzly football star and NFL alum Brock Coyle, officially opened the facility at a ribbon-cutting ceremony inside the Adams Center on the UM campus.
Brock, who, along with his sister and former Griz soccer star Alexa Coyle, donated 100-percent of the funds to build the Grizzly Athletics Coyle Recovery Room Powered by Hyperice, also took in the facility for the first time in the leadup to the ribbon-cutting.

What started as a long-time dream to build a place for his fellow Grizzlies to call their own had, in mere months, transformed into a reality. And representatives from all 14 of Montana's varsity programs were on hand to see that dream come to life.
"It's surreal. It's truly a vision come to life, and it's such an honor," said Brock.
"Honestly, I'm at a little bit of a loss for words because the University of Montana and the Griz are just so special to so many people. So many great players, great people, and great ambassadors for the university and the state have walked these halls. So, to be able to contribute, to give back, and to be a part of the university, knowing that this is going to help future generations of Griz athletes is what it's all about. It's just surreal, and I'm honored."
The Coyle Recovery Room – which is the first of its kind in the Big Sky Conference – will provide a space for all UM student-athletes to focus on body and muscle recovery, with all the tools necessary to help athletes recover faster and perform better.
The facility houses 11 chairs outfitted with state-of-the-art Normatec compression recovery systems, Hyperice percussion massagers, heating wraps, and foam rollers.
After stellar careers as Grizzlies, both Brock and Alexa played at the professional level in their respective sports. The pair leaned on that experience of elite competition to help design the new room.
"Having been a student-athlete, I know what they go through every day and the same with Alexa. We know what these guys go through every day. That's the biggest reward, knowing the impact this is going to have on each and every one of them in their careers. They all come here and put in their blood, sweat, and tears to this university. They come here to compete and you can't do that if you're injured," said Brock.
"Knowing this room can help each and every athlete be their best and stay on the field is really rewarding."
