
Six Grizzlies named Academic All-District

Six players from the Big Sky Conference champion Montana soccer team were named Academic All-District on Tuesday by College Sports Communicators.

Recognized for their work on the field and in the classroom were Kathleen Aitchison, Charley Boone, Sydney Haustein, Molly Quarry, Ava Samuelson and Skyleigh Thompson.

Boone, Haustein and Quarry are repeat Academic All-District selections after being recognized last year as well.

The six players were all starters or key contributors on a team that went 13-3-3 this past season and went unbeaten in regular-season Big Sky Conference matches at 7-0-1.

Aitchison, named second-team All-Big last month, has a 3.92 GPA as a psychology major.

Boone, first-team All-Big Sky and starting center back on a team that allowed a Big Sky-record nine goals in 2023, has a 3.95 GPA as a finance major.

Haustein, who finishes her career with 87 matches played and 76 starts, the former the second-highest total in program history, has a 3.56 GPA as a health and human performance major.

Quarry, who played in all 19 matches in 2023, with nine starts and a pair of assists, has a 3.58 GPA as an integrative physiology major.

Samuelson, who tied for second in the Big Sky with six assists and earned first-team All-Big Sky honors, has a 3.91 GPA as an integrative physiology major.

Thompson, first-team All-Big Sky and the league's Offensive MVP after finishing with six goals and four assists, has a 4.00 GPA as a finance major.
