Ponce, Joyce named Academic All-District

Montana senior golfers Tricia Joyce and Jessica Ponce, both of whom graduated earlier this month, were named Academic All-District on Tuesday by College Sports Communicators.

Joyce, who had a GPA of 3.96 through the end of the fall semester, graduated with a degree in finance. Ponce, who had a GPA of 3.66, graduated with a degree in psychology.

Both will be named Academic All-Big Sky Conference for the fourth time this summer.

Joyce enjoyed her best season as a Grizzly in 2022-23, finishing the year with a stroke average of 78.0.

She had a stroke average of 74.7 over Montana's final two tournaments of the spring. She tied for 20th at the Bobcat Spring Invitational and 16th at the Big Sky Conference Championship.

She completed her four years at Montana with a stroke average of 79.0 and three top-10 finishes, including a runner-up showing at the Battle at Old Works in September 2021.

Ponce ended her collegiate career with a stroke average of 78.9 and six top-10 finishes.

She tied for first at the Griz Invitational as a junior, carding rounds of 76 and 72. Later that season she tied for sixth at the Big Sky Championship.
