Four Montana volleyball players were named Academic All-District on Tuesday by College Sports Communicators.
Â
Alexis Batezel, Paige Clark, Maddie Kremer, and Maddie Pyles were honored for Montana for their work on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have competed in 90 percent of matches or started at least 66 percent of matches.
Â
It's the third career Academic All-District honor for Clark, who capped off a remarkable Grizzly career this fall. She's the first Grizzly to ever be named to three CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District teams.
Â
Clark had a cumulative GPA of 3.60 as a major in Management and Entrepreneurship. On the floor, Clark started every match and let Montana with 3.35 kills/set and 32 service aces. She hit .190 on the year, and recorded 1.78 digs per set and 41 total blocks.
Â
She finishes her career with 1,273 kills, 129 service aces, and 1,489 points. She ranks 6th in program history in kills and 10th in service aces. She has the second-most kills in program history during the rally scoring era, and the most of the 25-point rally scoring era (since 2008).
Â
Kremer, also a Management and Entrepreneurship major, has a 3.68 GPA. The senior was named Montana's Team MVP at the year-end awards banquet after leading the Grizzlies in Big Sky play with 3.57 kills per set.
Â
She earned the Big Sky Player of the Week on Nov. 18 after leading Montana's late-season charge toward the postseason. Over the four-match winning streak, she totaled 56 kills on better than .300 hitting.
Â
Batezel started every match for Montana at libero this season. The junior from Las Vegas had a 3.95 GPA as a psychology major. She battled through injury during the 2024 season to play in 91 of the 95 sets for Montana.
Â
She led Montana with 371 digs, ranking third in the Big Sky Conference with 4.08 per set. Batezel recorded ends her third year in Missoula with exactly 1,000 career digs, sitting just outside the top 10 in program history entering her final year. Â
Â
Pyles, a Management Information Systems major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.75 through her first three years in Missoula.
Â
The junior from Kennedale, Texas started all 27 matches for the Grizzlies, ranking third on the team with 197 total kills (2.07/set). She had a great all around season, ranking third on the team in aces (22), third in digs (178), and third in blocks (72).
