2016-17 (Senior): UM’s Grizzly Cup award-winner, a prestigious award given to an overall student-athlete who represents the Grizzlies in class, the community and competition… Is the program’s only four-time recipient of the Allan Nielsen Award, given annually to the player that best represents Grizzles basketball… Season captain… Was a 2017 Allstate NABC Good Works team nominee for his involvement in the community, one of four Big Sky Conference players… Earned numerous academic awards, including his fourth Academic All-Big Sky Conference honor and second NABC Honors Court selection… Was Montana’s recipient of the Big sky Conference Male Scholar-Athlete award… Played in all 32 contests, starting 11… Connected on 31 three-point attempts to finish his career with 203, among the best in UM history… Recorded 42 rebounds, 11 steals, 12 assists and three blocked shots to go along with 124 points… First career start came against Idaho (Jan. 4), scoring 14 points on four treys… Led all UM players with 19 points in a win over Oral Roberts (Nov. 21), shooting 7-of-10 and 5-of-8 from long range… Added 17 points in a win over Pepperdine (Dec. 22), again shooting 5-of-8 from three-point range… Had seven rebounds – tying a career high – in UM’s regular-season finale at Idaho State (March 4).
2015-16 (Junior): Named Big Sky Player of the Week on 1/4/16… Named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team for third year… Three-time winner of the Allan Nielsen Award for the player who best represents Grizzly Basketball… Made eight three-pointers, one shy of the school record against NAU on 12/31/15… Was the team’s leading scorer in that game (24 pts) where Montana set a new school record for team three-pointers (18) … Followed that game up with 21 points and 6 three-pointers at Southern Utah on 1/2/16… Played in 33 games, made 27 starts… Averaged 23.8 minutes-per-game… Averaged 8.3 points-per-game… Entered the Montana record books with the fifth-most three-pointers in team history since 1987 with 72 on the season… Led the team in scoring four different times… Finished the season at No. 3 on the Big Sky's career active leaders in three-points made with 172. He also finished as the Big Sky's seventh-leading three-point shooter, averaging 2.2 treys per-contest.
2014-15 (Sophomore): Named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic Team… Gfeller started in 25 of 33 games for the Griz in a breakout sophomore season, averaging 25.3 minutes per game… Was Montana’s third-highest scorer with 295 points on the season, averaging 8.9 per game… Had a .426 FG percentage, and a .421 three-point percentage with a .778 free throw percentage… Was fourth-best in assists for the Griz with 36… Had 30 steals, the third most on the team… Drained a three-point bomb at the buzzer of a double-overtime game at Northern Colorado to send it to triple-overtime, an eventual Griz win.
2013-14 (Freshman): Named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic Team… Played in 27 games and started in two (USF and at Sacramento State) as a true freshman… Was UM's eighth leading scorer.
