2023-24 (R-Freshman): Appeared in 12 games, playing 21 total minutes… scored 7 points to go with 9 rebounds and 1 steal… made 3-of-4 (.750) field goal attempts and went 1-for-2 from the free throw line… finished with season highs in points (5), rebounds (4), and minutes (10) in Montana’s win over Northwest Indian (11/7)… scored in a road win at Idaho (3/2)… appeared in seven games during the Big Sky schedule.
2022-23 (Redshirt): Bateman redshirted during his first season at Montana.
High School: Is a 2022 graduate of Big Sky High School in Missoula… As a senior, was named first-team all-state and first-team all-conference while averaging 17.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game and shooting 64 percent from the floor… Set a school record with nine blocked shots in a game... Helped Big Sky finish second at the Western AA divisional tournament and advance to the Montana AA state tournament for the first time since 2016, where the Eagles placed third, their best finish since 1997… Was selected to the all-tournament team... Twice earned his team’s offensive player-of-the-year award… Was selected to the 2022 Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Series roster where he averaged 10.0 points per game across two wins... Earned academic all-state recognition all four years… High school coach was Ryan Hansen… Played for the Select 17U Hoop Circuit… Also competed in golf and track & field, earning two all-state honors in track… Accumulated academic all-state recognition in golf (four times) and track & field (three).
