Griz golfers finish sixth at Inlands Empire

The University of Montana women's golf team finished sixth at the Inlands Empire Intercollegiate golf tournament in Post Falls, Idaho. UM's team score of 960 placed them 51 strokes behind tournament co-host and leader Eastern Washington University.
Freshman Anna Maria Jaramillo (Ontario, Ore.) finished in the top ten after a third round score of 80. Her final score of 234 was 14 strokes behind individual champion Amber Ward of conference rival Northern Arizona.
Fellow freshman Krista Swanson's (Forest Lake, Minn.) 236 tied her for 14th. Sophomore Jasi Acharya (Columbus, Mont.), competing in her first tournament of the 2003-2004 season, finished tied for 23rd with a 241.
The University of Montana golf team resumes the Fall schedule on Oct. 5 at the University of Colorado Invitational.
