Swanson's low round vaults Griz into 8th place

Sophomore Krista Swanson shot a three-under-par 69 which tied the school record for the lowest single-round total Tuesday in the second round of the Bobcat Desert Classic at Phoenix, Ariz. The Grizzlies, who finished 15th overall with a first-day 321, carded a second-round 299 to move into eighth place.
Swanson tied Jenny Chappell who totalled a 69 at the 1998 Weber State Invitational. Swanson, who shot a four-over-par 78 on day one, has a two-round total of 147 which is tied for fourth.
Juniors Jasi Acharya and Jill Walker each fired rounds of 75. Acharya and Walker are tied for 27th with a 36-hole total of 154.
Junior Mary Hasselberg shot a second-round 81 and is tied for 75th with a 166. Freshman Brittany Williamson, playing as an individual, carded a 79 and is also tied for 75th at 166.
Freshman Britney Hayes, who shot an 81 in the second round, is tied for 89th with a 166.
The 2005 Bobcat Desert Classic concludes Wednesday with the third and final round.
