Griz soccer wins third game in a row

The University of Montana women's soccer team posted its third straight shutout with a 1-0 win over South Dakota State, Sunday, Oct. 1, in the Montana Nike Cup, in Missoula, Mont.
Senior Kristina Lamberty scored the games only goal in the 76th minute of play. Lamberty, who took a pass from Sara Campbell, dribbled by one Jackrabbit defender before putting her shot in the upper corner of the far side of the goal. She was assisted by Campbell.
The Grizzlies once again held a strong advantage in shots, 16-9, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. UM was also offside six times to SDSU's four.
Lamberty had a team-high four shots, while senior Lindsay Winans had two.
Kellyn Farrell led the Jackrabbits with four shots.
Freshman Grace Harris, who has not allowed a goal in the last three games for the Grizzlies, made four saves for the Grizzlies.
Nicole Lograsso made four saves and allowed one goal in the SDSU loss.
Montana improved to 6-5-0 and will host Northern Arizona in the Big Sky Conference opener for both schools, Friday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m.
