UM falls to GU, 3-1

Gonzaga University jumped out to a an early 2-0 lead on the way to a 3-1 non-conference win over the University of Montana, Friday, Oct. 17, in Spokane, Wash.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 10-7-1 while the Grizzlies fall to 9-8-1.
Taylor Hall opened the scoring for the Bulldogs with her goal off a free kick in the 21st minute. She was assisted on the goal by Beth Dollinger.
Nada McCormick scored her seventh goal of the season five minutes later.
Sophomore Sami Cooke got the Grizzlies on the board with her second goal in the last four games. Sophomore Meghan Chambers picked up her team-high fourth assist on the goal.
Kelcey Goddard scored directly off a corner kick to wrap-up the scoring in the 79th minute.
Freshman Grace Harris allowed three goals and made two saves for Montana.
Jessie Thalman made one save and allowed one goal while Laura Higby also made one save.
The Grizzlies will face Eastern Washington in the Big Sky regular season finale for both schools. Kick off is set for 2 p.m. (mtn) in Cheney, Wash.
