Eagles upset Griz in Big Sky semifinals

The University of Montana men's tennis team's season came to a close Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to Eastern Washington in the semifinals of the 2007 Big Sky Conference Men's Tennis Tournament at the Gold River Racquet Club in Gold River, Calif.
The Eagles, the tournament's No. 3 seed, advance to face top seed Sacramento State in Sunday's championship match. The Hornets were 4-0 winners over No. 4 Northern Arizona Saturday in the other semifinal match.
Montana, the No. 2 seed, ended its season with an 11-9 record.
Eastern Washington took the early 1-0 lead when Kyle Schraeder and Pannhara Mam defeated senior Stuart Wing and sophomore Felipe Raw at No. 2 doubles, 8-6, and Keithan Gregg and Kevin Erickson downed senior Brady Tommerup and freshman Mikolaj Borkowski at No. 3, 8-5.
The loss snapped Tommerup and Borkowski??s nine-match win streak as a duo at No. 3 doubles.
Sophomore Colin Dektar and freshman Raydner Ramos were 8-6 winners at No. 1 doubles over Jonathan Davis and Patrick Millican.
The match ended quickly in singles play when EWU won three straight-set matches at Nos. 1, 2 and 5.
The Eagles made it 2-0 when Schraeder topped Dektar at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1, went up 3-0 when Nico Riego de Dios beat Borkowski at No. 5, 6-2, 6-3, and moved on to the title match when Mam defeated Wing at No. 1, 6-2, 6-1.
All play was suspended at that point.
