Grizzly track and field adds Butte's Sullivan

University of Montana track and field coach Tom Raunig announced Tuesday that Shannon Sullivan of Butte, Mont., will join the Grizzly track and field program beginning with the 2008 indoor and outdoor seasons. The addition of Sullivan increases Raunig's 2007-08 recruiting class to 13, with nine Montana signees and four Washington additions.
Sullivan, a recent graduate of Butte High, was the 2007 Montana Class AA state champion in the 100 meters in a time of 12.27. She was also a member of BHS's 400- and 1,600-meter relay teams, helping the Bulldogs to a fourth-place team finish.
Sullivan's 100-meter winning time was a personal best. She has a personal best in the long jump of 18-2.25.
"Shannon will join the program with a great deal of untapped potential in the sprints and jumps," Raunig said. "She improved dramatically over the course of her senior season, which we hope will continue into her collegiate career."
