It was a heated battle today at South Campus Stadium as both the Grizzlies and the Lumberjacks fought for improvement within the BSC. NAU managed just one shot during the first half to UM???s four.
??
Another 15 scoreless minutes ensued in the second half before Lumberjack Jenna Samora scored. The ball moved down field quickly on a soaring pass where Samora intercepted an attempted clear by UM keeper Grace Harris. Samora???s contact with the ball sent it shooting past Harris into an empty net. It was her sixth goal on the season.
??
The Grizzlies quickly found redemption when Meghan Chambers moved up the left side of the field, lofting the ball beautifully in front of the net where Carmen Reyes headed in the equalizer to the right of NAU keeper Tori Rocke. It was Reyes??? first career goal.
??
The assist by Chambers gives her a team high four on the season.
??
Montana continued to pound the net, taking 12 shots in the second half to the Lumberjacks??? four.
??
The match moved into overtime play where two shots were made by each team in the first 10 minutes. NAU had a 2-0 shot advantage in the final 10 minutes but the Grizzlies defended their goal to end the 110 minutes of play in a 1-1 draw.
Northern Arizona???s Cee Cee Odorfer, who has posted nine goals on the season thus far, had four shots, one of which was on goal. Katilyn Heinsohn took a match-high five shots, three on goal.
??
Harris played all 110 minutes in goal, making two saves and allowing one goal. Rocke, too, played the entirety of the match, making four saves and allowing one goal.
