UM men's tennis cruises past Dayton

The University of Montana men's tennis team won their third straight match with a 7-0 victory over Dayton on Saturday night in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Grizzlies, who recorded their second sweep in the last three matches, improved to 3-1 on the season. The Flyers dropped to 8-10 overall.
Montana took all three doubles matches to go up 1-0 in the match.
Junior Colin Dektar teamed up with Greg Friedman for a 8-2 win over over James O'Connell and Matt Sherman at the No. 1 position. Junior Felipe Raw and sophomore Raydner Ramos won 8-3 over David Peyton and Antonio Rodriguez at the No. 2 slot. Sophomore Mikolaj Borkowski and freshman David Cysneiros won 8-5 over Michael Koscielski and Bryce Warnock at the No. 3.
The Grizzlies won five of the six singles contests in straight sets. Dektar won 6-0, 6-1 over O'Connell at the top of the lineup. Raw came from behind to win 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5) at the No. 2 position over Sherman.
Borkowski and Ramos were both victorious at the No. 3 and 4 positions respectively. Borkowski won 6-2, 6-1 over Peyton, while Ramos defeated Koscielski 6-1, 6-3.
Junior Alexandre Gorj won at the No. 5 position over Warnock, 6-1, 6-2. Cysneiros defeated Chris Riccardella, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 6.
The Montana (3-1) will return to action with a trio of matches next weekend. The Griz will due battle against Sacramento State on March 21, before heading to Bozeman for a nuetral-site contest against Idaho on March 22 and a road league matchup with Montana State on March 23.
