Men gain Big Sky win over Lumberjacks

The University of Montana men???s team downed Northern Arizona 5-2 at the neutral site in Bozeman, Mont., Friday afternoon.

The men will remain in Bozeman to face Weber State (6-10, 2-3 BSC) on Saturday, April 11 before returning home.

With the win, the Grizzlies improved to 9-6, 3-2 in Big Sky play.
??
The Lumberjacks fell to 7-15, 5-2 in Big Sky matches after suffering this second loss against a BSC team. NAU fell to Sacramento State, who leads the conference undefeated, on March 14.

Montana claimed the doubles point after winning at both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles slots.
??
Junior Mikolaj Borkowski and freshman Carl Kuschke downed Lumberjacks Jacob Tracy and David Flodberg, 8-3, at the No. 1 slot. Senior Felipe Raw and junior Raydner Ramos continued their undefeated record this spring by defeating Robin Pezzuto and Andrew Reiff at the No. 2 slot, 9-8.

The Grizzlies won four of the five singles contests, three of which were in straight sets.

Borkowski defeated NAU???s Chris Arena, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles while Ramos downed Flodberg, 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 2 slot.

Kuschke won at the No. 5 slot, 7-5, 6-2, over Jaco Visagie and sophomore David Cysneiros pulled out a tough three-set match over NAU???s Tracy, 1-6, 6-2, 7-6.
