Steele to be inducted into Hall of Fame

The Montana State Women???s Golf Association announced recently that University of Montana golf coach Joanne Steele will be the group???s 2009 Hall of Fame inductee. Steele will be inducted at the MSWGA State Amateur Tournament in Missoula on Friday, July 24.
Steele is being recognized for her success as both a player and as a coach. Steele was the 2001 state amateur champion and the 2002 and ???03 runner-up, and she recently completed her 13th season coaching the Griz women???s golf team.
Steele led Montana to the 2006 Big Sky Conference championship, the program???s first, and a spot in the 2006 NCAA tournament. She was recognized as the Big Sky Coach of the Year for her team???s success in 2006.
Steele???s teams have produced 39 academic all-conference selections.
