Montana falls to No. 57 Idaho

The University of Montana men's tennis fell to Idaho 7-0 Saturday at The Peak Racquet Club.
The Idaho Vandals increased their winning to 10. The team is ranked nationally at No. 57. Montana's overall record falls to to 1-4 (1-0B BSC).
"I felt we could have pushed Idaho a little harder than we," said head coach Kris Nord. "I had a little higher expectations of this match."
Idaho's No. 1 and 2 doubles teams clinched the doubles point. Semion Branzburg and Ethan Vaughn, Montana's No. 3 duo, beat their Vandal opponents 8-7.
All of the singles matches went to Idaho. Although, several Montana players pushed their opponents to third sets. No. 1 Mikolaj Caruk and No. 2 Ethan Vaughn challenged both their opponents to a third set before being defeated, and No. 6 Zach Drostlost a tie-breaker that decided his match.
"Now I tell the team to get some rest and get ready for Cats," said Nord. "It will be another tough match."
Montana returns to the courts Sunday at 10 a.m. to take on Montana State at The Peak Racquet Club. Although Montana State is a Big Sky Conference member, Sunday's match is a non-conference match.
