Griz in ninth place after opening day in Hawaii

The Montana women's golf team shot rounds of 309 and 310, and is in ninth place after the opening day of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kaneohe, Hawaii.
Tara Green carded rounds of 76 and 74 on the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course and is tied for 20th. The senior has played 16 straight rounds in the 70s dating back to the start of the Grizzlies' fall season.
Sophomore Barbora Bakova (75-79) and junior Phoebe Tan (79-78) also played two rounds in the 70s. Bakova is tied for 34th, Tan is tied for 49th.
Sophomore Alexa Schendelman, who is competing as an individual, played rounds of 75 and 79 on the par-72 course. She is tied for 34th.
Oklahoma State, a three-time winner of the tournament, has a 10-shot lead on the field through two rounds with scores of 279 and 287. The Cowgirls are 10-under.
Texas A&M (291-285) is second at even par, Baylor (297-298) is 19 strokes behind the Aggies at +19.
Six players are under par through two rounds, led by a pair of Oklahoma State standouts. Linnea Johansson shot 67 and 70 to finish 7-under. Emma Broze went 67-72 and is 5-under.
Big Sky Conference member Idaho (297-309) is 13 shots up on Montana heading into Wednesday's final round.
