Sasha Carter and Dylan Hambright were the University of Montana's representatives on the 2014-15 Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athlete Award list that was announced Friday by the league office.
Â
Both graduated in May, Carter, of the women's tennis team, with a 3.51 GPA as a marketing major, Hambright, of the track and field team, with a 3.22 GPA as a sociology major.
Â
Carter was a three-time All-Big Sky Conference selection, earning second-team honors as a sophomore and first-team accolades as both a junior and senior.
Â
She finished her career with 91 singles victories, the most in program history, including 27 in 2014-15 when she went a perfect 11-0 in regular-season Big Sky matches.
Â
Carter helped Montana win the Big Sky Conference regular-season championship in 2013-14, the first in program history, and make three appearances in the Big Sky tournament championship match.
Â
Hambright's athletic career as a Grizzly peaked at the 2013 Big Sky indoor track and field championships at Bozeman, when he finished third in the 400 meters to earn All-Big Sky honors.
Â
He finished fifth in the event at the 2012 indoor championships, and four times he was a member of a relay team that scored points at Big Sky championship meets.
Â
Off the track Hambright was an active member of Montana's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He served as the committee's president as a senior.
