Griz close with 323, finish 13th

The Montana women's golf team finished 13th out of 15 teams at the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore., after shooting a final-round 323 Tuesday. The Grizzlies opened the tournament at the Langdon Farms Golf Club with rounds of 324 and 309 on Monday.
Sophomore Hailey Hoagland (78-76-82--236) was Montana's top finisher for the second straight tournament. She tied for 52nd overall at 20-over.
San Francisco (285-296-290--871) set a tournament scoring record and needed to to hold off Oregon State (294-290-289--873) by two strokes and Fresno State (296-285-294--875) by four.
USF's Vanessa Ha (71-71-68--210) played three under-par rounds to win the tournament by three strokes over BYU's Kendra Dalton (74-69-70--213). Four players finished 2-under, including Northern Colorado's Amanda Myers (73-69-72--214), the top finisher from a Big Sky Conference school.
Ha's three-round score also was a tournament record.
Montana had just one golfer shoot in the 70s on Tuesday, senior Phoebe Tan (84-79-78--241) at 78. Freshman Baylee Barckley (85-76-80--241), who shot a second-round 76 Monday afternoon, closed with an 80.
Freshman Sadie Crippen (79-78-83--240) finished 61st, while Tan and Barckley tied for 62nd.
Portland State (312-294-301--907) won the battle of the five Big Sky Conference schools that competed. The Vikings finished 49 strokes better than the Grizzlies.
Montana will play its fourth of five fall tournaments in two weeks when the Grizzlies compete at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Tacoma, Wash.
