Griz football fever set to kick off at annual Big Sky media days

In one of the surest signs that college football is right around the corner, the Big Sky Conference's annual media days are set to get underway on Monday and Tuesday, July 18-19, in Park City, Utah.

Montana head coach Bob Stitt returns Utah to mark the start of his second season in the league. Second-year starting quarterback Brady Gustafson will also be on hand, as the senior from Billings gets set to lead the Griz back to the FCS playoffs for the 24th time in program history.

Griz fans can tune in to get preseason insights from Coach Stitt and Gustafson via the Big Sky's live web stream of the event. Gustafson will appear at 10:03 AM on Monday, while Coach Stitt will be interviewed at 9:54 AM on Tuesday. Interviews with all of the league's head coaches and selected players run from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Monday and Tuesday.

New Big Sky Commissioner Andrea Williams will start the proceedings with a streamed interview at 9:00 AM on Monday. A full streaming schedule can be found HERE.

Stitt and Gustafson will also meet with media representatives from around the conference, as well as be on hand to produce promotional material for the league's broadcast partner, ROOT sports.

GRIZ IN THE POLLS

Early returns are coming in for the Montana Grizzlies as media outlets around the country begin to release preseason polls.

Athlon Sports ranked the Grizzlies the No. 16 team in the nation in their preseason poll, noting another tough schedule for UM, but acknowledging the return of Gustafson and All-Big Sky defensive end Caleb Kidder as major feathers in the Grizzlies' cap.

The Griz were also picked by The Sporting News at No. 15 in the nation, and in the Lindy's Sports poll, UM was picked first in the Big Sky and No. 9 in the nation in recent polls.
