Griz-Cat Memories: #TBT 20 Years

Saturday's game marks the twentieth anniversary of one of the greatest Griz/Cat games ever played.
Â
The year was 1997, just one year from when the Grizzlies made their second-straight appearance in the D1-AA National Championship.
Â
The Griz started the game in Bozeman on fire, jumping out to a 21-7 halftime lead, but the Bobcats would come storming back in the second half.
Â
With just 22 seconds left to play, MSU's Eric Kinnamon took the ball wide left and dove in for a Bobcat touchdown that gave them the 25-24 lead. The Cats would then attempt to go for the two-point conversion to make it a three-point game. But the run was stopped short, and the Griz would get one last possession.
Â
The ensuing kickoff would sail out of bounds for Montana State, giving the Griz the ball on their own 35-yard line.
Â
After the first play resulted in an incomplete pass, Brian Ah Yat connected with Justin Olsen for a 46-yard completion, putting the Griz in field-goal territory.
Â
With no time on the clock and ice in his veins, kicker Kris Heppner drilled a 37-yard field goal to give Montana an epic 27-25 win.
