
Volleyball Q&A: Kelsey Nestegard

Kelsey Nestegard is a native of Pullman, Wash., graduating in 2018 from Pullman High School. She spent her first season in Missoula as a redshirt.

At Pullman High School, Nestegard was a 2017 first-team all-state honoree, also earning a pair of first-team all-league honors. She was named the GNL's Most Valuable Player as a senior. As a two-time team captain, Nestegard helped the Greyhounds to back-to-back district and GNL titles, advancing to the state tournament three times. She was a three-time academic all-league recipient and earned 12 varsity letters across volleyball, basketball and track & field.

If you could spend an entire day doing whatever you wanted, what would you do? I would be skiing at Brundage Mountain in McCall, Idaho.

Do you floss regularly? No.

Morning or night person? Night person.

What do you think about when you're alone in your car? How much I love my dog.

If you could be any animal in the zoo, what would you be? A sea otter.

Would you rather be stranded on an island alone or with someone you dislike? Alone.

What's your biggest fear? Falling down a flight of stairs.

If you didn't play volleyball, how would you spend your free time? Laying in bed.

What's something that amazes you? That up to two-thirds of the plant and animal species in the world's oceans are undiscovered.
