Volleyball Q&A: Janna Grimsrud
7/25/2019 9:21:00 AM | Volleyball
Each week throughout the summer, GoGriz.com will post Q&As with each of Montana's returning volleyball players. These were originally published throughout the 2018 season in the match program.
Janna Grimsrud was the team's 2018 Heart of the Grizzly award winner, an annual award that is voted on by the coaching staff and given to a player whose character and work ethic represent a Grizzly and what the program strives to be about. As a junior in 2018, Grimsrud earned three starts and averaged 0.90 blocks per set across nine matches played. She had six blocks in back-to-back matches vs. Iowa State and Gonzaga, leading Montana in that category in both matches.
What's one song you regularly listen to that you are embarrassed to admit? I secretly love 'Fancy' by Reba McEntire...
If you could spend an entire day doing whatever you wanted what would you do? I would be on a beach somewhere with hundreds of dogs that can talk and we could laugh and swim all day. And eat pizza.
Do you floss regularly? Yes, of course! (my mom will be reading this)Â
What's the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? I walk through my day in my head, cry quick, get out of bed!
What do you think about when you're alone in your car? Yell sing. A lot of yell singing.
Morning or night person? Very much a night person. I love snuggling up and watching movies, but I feel guilty doing that during the day!
If you could be any animal in the zoo, what would you be? A Griz. Duh!
What's your biggest fear? SHARKS!
If you didn't play volleyball, how would you spend your free time? With dogs!
If there was a movie about your life, which actress would play you? Leslie Mann, for sure. She's so weird and funny!
What's something that amazes you? How high Missy jumps.
What's your favorite vacation memory from when you were a child? I went to Vancouver, B.C. with my mom once. It was the best trip of my life!
You've been given an elephant. You can keep it, give it away or sell it. What would you do with it? I would love that elephant with all my heart!
What's your biggest superstition? I always have a penny in my pocket on gameday, then during the game I keep it in my right shoe.
What's your favorite class you've taken? I love my abnormal psychology class! My professor is so awesome and the content is super interesting.
How would you describe Montana Volleyball in 3 words? Go. Fight. Win.
