Volleyball's version of the Brawl of the Wild, featuring a home-and-home series between Montana and Montana State, will receive state-wide exposure this season, with Cowes Media picking up broadcast rights to televise the rivalry matches.
Â
Montana will open Big Sky Conference play against Montana State on Tuesday, Sept. 24 in Missoula, before traveling to Bozeman on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Â
Fans across the state of Montana can watch the matches on SWX Montana, which has affiliates in Missoula/Kalispell (KTMF, 23.3), Billings (KULR, 8.2), Butte/Bozeman (KWYB, 18.3), Great Falls (KFBB, 5.3) and Helena (KHBB, 21.3). Charter cable subscribers can watch on channel 199 for all markets outside of Billings, who can find SWX on Billings Charter channel 503. Additionally, the matches can be streamed statewide on the SWX app.
Â
Montana has played Montana State more than any other opponent, and the series has been extremely competitive, with the Cats holding a slight 57-56 edge. Last year in Missoula, Montana knocked off Montana State in five sets in front of one of the largest crowds in program history. Last year also marked the first time since 2000 that both programs qualified for the Big Sky Conference tournament in the same season.
