1969-70 Griz set to reunite for 50th anniversary

The 2019 and 2020 football seasons mark the 50th anniversary of the first two Big Sky Conference champion teams in Montana football history, with both teams going 10-0 in the regular season and advancing to the Camellia Bowl.

To celebrate, The Grizzly Scholarship Association is partnering with leaders from those historic teams to host a 50th reunion this fall, giving players a chance to reconnect and celebrate Homecoming with other University of Montana alumni.

The 1969-70 Griz Football Team Reunion is set for Sept. 25-26, when the Griz take on the Cal Poly Mustangs in Missoula.

The reunion starts Friday, Sept. 25, with a gathering at The Still Room Bar and Restaurant at 1609 W. Broadway in Missoula.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, the teams will meet in the GSA Tailgate Area prior to being introduced on the field in Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Following the game there will be a gathering for players and fans at the Sunrise Saloon at 1101 Strand Ave in Missoula. Â
