Nine Grizzlies earn preseason honors from Phil Steele Magazine

Complete All-America and All-Conference lists

Montana linebacker Jace Lewis and long snapper Matthew O'Donoghue earned preseason All-America honors, and nine different Grizzlies were preseason All-Big Sky picks with the Phil Steele Magazine 2021 FCS preseason All-American and all-conference announced Tuesday.

Phil Steele once again partnered with Draftscout.com to produce three All-America teams on offense, defense, and special teams, as well as a first, second, and third-team for each FCS conference.

Lewis and O'Donoghue each earned first-team all-conference honors in addition to their All-America nod.

Joining them on the preseason All-Big Sky list were Samuel Akem, Conlan Beaver, Dylan Cook, Robby Hauck, and Malik Flowers. Safety Gavin Robertson also earned his first preseason all-conference honor with a place on the third team, and running back Marcus Knight was recognized for his stellar 2019 season with a place on the third team as well.

The Grizzlies open the 2021 season on the road in Seattle against the University of Washington on Sept. 4, followed by the home opener in Missoula on Sept. 11 against Western Illinois.
