Highlights: SDSU Invite

After a five-set win over Seattle, Montana quickly regrouped and traveled to South Dakota for the SDSU Invite. The weekend included matches against California Baptist and host South Dakota State (Wichita State was unable to compete due to COVID-19 precautions). While the outcomes didn't go the way Montana had hoped for, there were several individual highlights that stood out, including experimenting with new lineups.
Clark Highlights
After being used sparingly through the season's first four matches, primarily as a server, freshman setter Paige Clark got her opportunity at the SDSU Invite – as both a setter and attacker. For the first time since 2016, Montana ran a 6-2 offense – featuring two setters – which allowed Clark to set from the back row and hit from the front. She did both tremendously, averaging 3.0 kills, 3.8 assists and 3.4 digs per set on the weekend, in addition to two blocks and a service ace. She led the Grizzlies with 10 kills on .368 hitting vs. California Baptist.
Howell Highlights
After serving and playing defense during her first four matches at Montana, junior Jackie Howell got in on the action offensively, totaling 12 kills in a pair of matches vs. California Baptist and South Dakota State.
