Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Feb. 5

The University of Montana Department of Athletics will once again celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day in conjunction with a home Lady Griz game.

This year's event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 5, when Montana hosts Idaho State at 2 p.m. at Dahlberg Arena. It is sponsored in part by Clearwater Credit Union.

Registration is now open for girls ages 7-13 to have a chance to be part of the game-day experience by shadowing different staff positions.

Available spots range from marketing to ticketing to in-game music, from spirit squad to social media to equipment.

Each applicant must submit a short video no more than one minute in length explaining why they would like to be part of the game-day team.

Applications will be accepted through Jan. 28.

As part of the event, there will be a pregame youth clinic for kids ages 4-13 starting at noon in the West Auxiliary Gym of the Adams Center.

The clinic will have stations and student-athletes from a majority of Montana's women's sports programs.

Kids will have the opportunity to meet some of their favorite Grizzlies and play some games.

All parents/guardians will need to purchase a discounted ticket prior to arriving for the clinic and game.

Children who want to participate in the clinic will receive a free ticket to the Lady Griz game using the link above.
