Montana teams up with Firehouse Subs to honor first responders

The University of Montana and Grizzly Athletics are proud to announce that Firehouse Subs has signed on as an official corporate partner of Grizzly Athletics and will be an associate presenting partner this weekend's home football game against Idaho to honor Montana's first responders.

In conjunction with Grizzly Sports Properties, a local subsidiary of LEARFIELD at the University of Montana, Firehouse Subs will be donating its media exposure during the game to local first responder groups at Saturday's game. They will also be staged around the concourse at Washington-Grizzly Stadium, raising funds in their iconic red pickle buckets to support of local first responders.

In the leadup to the game, local Missoula Firehouse Subs franchisee Les Kleinman is inviting all police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and active-duty military to stop by the restaurant on Reserve Street for a free medium sub*, dine-in or take-out, on Friday, October 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

"As a proud member of the Missoula community, I support University of Montana Athletics in recognizing our everyday heroes during this weekend's First Responders Day football game," said Kleinman. "I wanted to extend that recognition at my Firehouse Subs restaurant and honor all first responders who visit us the Friday before the big game."

October is also First Responders Month, and Firehouse Subs restaurants are raising money to benefit Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. Guests can make a $1 or $5 medallion donation in Firehouse Subs restaurants to help provide first responders with the equipment needed to save lives. The Foundation has awarded more than $531,200 throughout the state of Montana.
