Nominations for Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame now accepted through April 1

Following a hugely successful induction ceremony in 2021, the University of Montana Athletic Department is once again accepting nominations for its two most prestigious honors: The Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame (GSHF) and the Grizzly Lifetime Honors Award (GLHA).
The nomination deadline for both awards is April 1, 2022.
Hall of Fame weekend is set to coincide with the first football home game of year. The incoming GSHF Class of 2022 will be honored at a banquet in the Adams Center Sept. 9, and at an on-field presentation during the Montana/South Dakota football game Sept. 10.
The Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame was created to "pay tribute and give lasting recognition to those student-athletes, coaches, and teams who have made exceptional contributions, and brought recognition, honor, and distinction to the University of Montana in the field of Intercollegiate Athletics, and who have continued to demonstrate in their lives the values imparted by their experiences."
The Grizzly Lifetime Honors Award was established in 2018 "to pay tribute and give recognition to supporters of UM athletics who are not eligible for the Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame, which includes only athletes and coaches."
The Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame is comprised of 67 former UM athletes, coaches and teams. Three long-time servants to Grizzly Athletics have received the Lifetime Honors Award
Montana inducted a banner class to the Hall of Fame in 2021, with record-setting quarterback Brian Ah Yat, All-America decathlete Adam Bork, Big Sky MVP Skyla Sisco, and legendary player/coach Wayne Tinkle each being enshrined.
Former UM ticket office manager Gary Hughes was also presented the lifetime honors award at the sold-out banquet in the Adams Center.
Athletes and coaches become eligible for nomination 10 years after their careers at the University of Montana end.
