
Griz Spring Game to be broadcast on SWX from Hamilton

The Montana football team will cap its spring season under Friday night lights in Hamilton this week in the annual Grizzly Scholarship Association Spring Game at Hamilton High School.

Those in attendance will have a host of activities in the lead-up to, and following the game, while fans unable to travel down the Bitterroot can watch the game on statewide TV.

Before kickoff, the GSA will be hosting the official pregame tailgate and happy hour at Bitter Root Brewing from 3-5 p.m. Bitter Root Brewing will donate $1 back to the GSA from every beer sold during that time. Food will also be available.

The scrimmage gets underway at 6 p.m., with a special welcome by head coach Bobby Hauck. Gates to the Hamilton High School Athletic Complex open at 4:30.

The scrimmage is scheduled to run for four, 15-minute quarters with a running clock. There will be a 10-minute halftime period with entertaining contests from the team as well.

Following the game, the Griz will remain on the field for fans to get autographs and photos
with players and coaches.

Tickets cost $10 each and are currently on sale at the GSA office in Missoula and the Hamilton High School main office (cash or check only at the high school). Tickets will also be on sale at the gate on game day (cash and check only).

SWX Montana will broadcast the Griz Spring Game on its stations around the state and in Eastern Washington for those unable to attend. Fans can also stream the game on the Watch SWX app via smartphones or tablets. The game will not be available to stream on ESPN+.

"Voice of the Griz" Riley Corcoran will be on the play-by-play for the broadcast, with former Grizzly quarterback Grady Bennet on the color commentary. Shaun Rainey will report from the sidelines.Â

Following the spring game, Montana will turn its attention to the 2022 season opener against Northwestern State on Sept. 3 in Missoula.
