The Montana track & field program, under the direction of new head coach Doug Fraley, is hosting a Homecoming Track-A-Thon on Friday afternoon. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the program, but was also created with the goal of bringing the program's athletes, coaches, family, friends and community together.
Â
Friday's event, which runs from 4-6 p.m., will kick off the University of Montana's Homecoming festivities, taking place Friday afternoon at Dornblaser Field. Participants are invited to take a 30-minute walk around the Grizzlies' track, doing so alongside Griz track & field student-athletes and coaches. Fans are also invited to stay for a social, including snacks and drinks and the opportunity to mingle with Montana's student-athletes and new coaching staff.
Â
Funds raised from the event will help enhance the overall student-athlete experience, providing essential resources for things such as travel, equipment and nutrition. This year, the fundraising efforts will specifically be directed toward increasing the program's overall operations budget, which will help with travel costs to more competitive meet opportunities and airfare for the 2023 Big Sky Championships in Greeley, Colorado.
